'Homophobic banter' can be harassment even where the victim is known not to be a homosexual


The Court of Appeal has confirmed in the recent case of English v Thomas Sanderson Limited that 'homophobic banter' directed at an employee could be harassment under the Employment Equality (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2003 even when the victim was not a homosexual and the perpetrators knew this.

Update: Draft ACAS guide on discipline and grievances at work

 

The draft guide on discipline and grievances at work which accompanies the draft Code of Practice issued by ACAS has been approved.  Both are due to come into force in April 2009.
