Disability Discrimination: Definition of 'normal day-to-day' activities
In the recent case of Chief Constable of Dumfries & Galloway Constabulary v Adams the EAT have confirmed that a 'normal day-to-day activity', within the definition of disability in the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, refers to activities which are to be found amongst a range of employment situations and can therefore, include work carried out on a night shift.

The Budget 2009: increase in statutory redundancy pay
The Government has announced in this month's Budget a one-off increase in a week's pay for the purposes of calculating the amount of a statutory redundancy payment from £350 to £380. This will increase the maximum potential statutory redundancy payment to £11,400. No date has yet been announced for the increase.
