Court of Appeal rules that length of service criteria in redundancy selection matrix was lawful
The Court of Appeal has ruled in Rolls Royce v Unite the Union that the use of length of service criteria in a redundancy selection matrix is lawful. Although the use of such a criterion is indirectly discriminatory on the grounds of age it considered that in this case it could be objectively justified.
