Disability Discrimination Act extends to associative discrimination

 

In the recent case of EBR Attridge LLP and another v Coleman (No 2) the EAT has confirmed that the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 outlaws discrimination and harassment by reason of a third person's disability.

EAT confirms "philosophical belief" under Religion or Belief Regulations can include belief in need to tackle climate change

 

In Grainger plc and others v Nicholson the EAT has decided that a belief in climate change, and the need to prevent it, can amount to a "philosophical belief" for the purposes of the Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003.
