Taking holiday - giving notice and carry over
The Employment Appeal Tribunal has found that if an employee fails to exercise notice provisions in the Working Time Regulations 1998 (which provide how much notice an employee must give of their holiday) correctly, they may be lawfully prevented by their employer from taking holiday before the end of the applicable holiday year.

Additional paternity leave: draft regulations published
The government has now published six sets of draft regulations to facilitate the introduction of additional paternity leave. The regulations will apply to parents of babies due on or after 3 April 2011.
